Availity Essentials
Carolina Complete Health uses Availity Essentials as its secure provider portal for eligibility and benefits verification, claims submission and status checks, authorization requests, and access to Carolina Complete Health and Trillium Health Resources (Physical Health) payer resources.
Important for Trillium providers: Beginning October 1, 2026, Availity Essentials will be the only electronic method for submitting prior authorization requests for the following services:
- Durable Medical Equipment (DME), including orthotics, prosthetics, and hearing aid services
- Personal Care Services (PCS)
- Private Duty Nursing (PDN)
- Home Health
- Hospice
- Transplants
- CAR-T Cell Therapy
Providers should ensure they have access to Availity Essentials and are familiar with the authorization submission process prior to October 1 to avoid delays in processing requests.

- Submit and check the status of claims
- Submit prior authorization requests
- Access provider resources and plan information for Carolina Complete Health and Trillium Health Resources (Physical Health).

Getting started: Designate an Availity administrator for your provider organization
Your provider organization’s designated Availity administrator is the person responsible for registering your organization in Essentials and managing user accounts. This person should have legal authority to sign agreements for your organization.

- Look for additional functionality in Carolina Complete Health and Trillium’s payer space and use the heart icon to add apps to My Favorites in the top navigation bar.
- Save provider information in Essentials and auto-populate it to save time and prevent errors.
