CMHRP and CMARC Program Transition
CMHRP and CMARC Program Transition: What Providers Need to Know
Beginning January 1, 2027, Carolina Complete Health will assume responsibility for CMHRP and CMARC care management services currently provided through Local Health Departments for Carolina Complete Health members.
What's Changing
Effective January 1, 2027, the Care Management for High-Risk Pregnancies (CMHRP) and Care Management for At-Risk Children (CMARC) programs currently administered by Local Health Departments (LHDs) will transition to NC Medicaid Standard Plans, Tailored Plans, and the Primary Care Case Management (PCCM) entity.
To support this transition, Carolina Complete Health will stop sending new CMHRP and CMARC referrals to Local Health Departments effective November 30, 2026. This transition period is intended to facilitate the shift of care management responsibilities to health plans and the PCCM entity beginning January 1, 2027.
Beginning January 1, 2027, health plans and the PCCM entity will assume responsibility for administering and coordinating CMHRP and CMARC services.
Provider Action
Providers should continue to identify members who may benefit from care management services and refer them to Carolina Complete Health for assistance.
